I know. I won't forget you, but I forget myself

It's part and parcel of going through another recession that I end up with a lot of time to address the lack of direction sometimes in my work.

It's been hard to look at the failings and the lack of ambition.
The pictures have become safe and predictable.
I take less risks, it seems a long way down to where I started.
I used to teach the students at Bournemouth to have Direction, Motivation & Style.
Sometimes the camera is hard to pick up, and very often the inspiration just doesn't come when you want it.

Not wanting to waste time & effort and fear of failing can throw away what can drive me on.
But in the end, even if it is a safe and non-commission project of my son, instinct does take over and even if I don't quite know how it happened, beautiful pictures can come from trying to control it.
